As 2012 comes to a close, I look back on a year where the staff at Hoosier Foot and Ankle has helped enormously to make things go smoother for both patients and doctors.
I’m still committed to making every effort to provide quality, innovative care to patients while using every tool and technique possible to make staff life at the clinics clear, simple and pleasant.
We do use a tablet and electronic templates for notes. The templates serve as a checklist for me so that I don’t have to carry the essential items that are always noted about a patient in my head. That leave ‘room’ for surprises — the emergency or the unusual condition — to be considered. When we use the small computer together, our records are in one place. Staff members can begin the notes when first talking with patients at arrival.
Best of all no one is trying to read illegible writing. That takes time and can lead to errors. No one at Hoosier Foot and Ankle would be happy with errors; we make every effort to avoid them.
We’ve added technology in terms to tools, equipment and software in 2012 so that we are really prepared to take efficiency and clarity into 2013 along with our intended compassionate, innovative care for the foot conditions that patients bring to us.
